The salivary glands are divided into major and minor glands. The major glands are parotid, submandibular and sublingual glands. The minor salivary glands are hundreds in number and lie in submucosa of upper aero-digestive tract. This chapter describes surgical anatomy of salivary glands with help of line diagrams. Inflammatory diseases of salivary glands are given with detailed description of submandibular sialadenitis and acute parotitis. Salivary gland tumors are described including their epidemiology, etiology, classification, clinical features investigations and treatment. Superficial parotidectomy, management of facial nerve and complications of parotidectomy are described. In the end, method of clinical examination of salivary glands is described with the help of clinical photographs.
