This chapter describes basic principles of imaging techniques that includes conventional radiography, ultrasonography, CT-scan, MRI, intervention radiology and radionuclide studies. Indication of these techniques in head and neck lesions, their advantages and drawbacks are outlined. Role of CT scan and MRI are compared for head and neck lesions.
