Abstract

Surgical asepsis is defined as prevention of access of microorganisms to a surgical wound. Antiseptic measures are the measures used to destroy bacteria or remove them from all subjects coming in contact with the wound. This chapter describes operation theatre discipline to prevent surgical sepsis. Proper method of wearing surgical gloves is shown in the DVD. Various methods of sterilization are described while outlining routinely used methods for various surgical equipments and operation theatres.
