The text book of Physiology has been prepared with the purpose of facilitating the student to comprehend the mechanisms and biophysical principles involved in the functions of human body and apply the knowledge in the understanding of clinical disorders. The learner would find the text concise, yet provides all the important concepts and recent developments in the subject. The text has 12 chapters which include all the organ systems of the human body. Each chapter includes themes or topics, which describe the physiological processes. The topics have been described with greater clarity, and include illustrated diagrams and algorithms of the physiological processes. More importantly, the inclusion of text boxes highlighting the must know areas would provide the reader a good summary of the topic discussed. In each chapter, at each level of discussion, the relevant clinical examples and the scientific basis for the clinical manifestations have been included. At the end of each chapter, Multiple choice questions are given, which the student would find them very helpful for self testing and improvement.
