The chapter starts with general considerations in tooth preparation design for tooth coloured in-direct restorations, luting procedures. In resin composite inlays and onlays, first a detailed explanation of the materials employed is discussed. The three basic techniques of indirect composite restorations viz., Direct inlay/onlay, Semi-Direct inlay/onlay, In-direct inlay/onlay is explained elaborately. This section finishes off with advantages of composite inlay/onlay and indications of these restorations. Next section deals with ceramic inlay/onlay restorations, it starts off with advantages and indications of ceramic inlay/onlays. Next a detailed explanation of CAD-CAM system is explained.
