It deals with various congenital anomalies of the foot like, club foot spectrum, flat foot, pes cavus, rocker bottom foot, malposition of calcaneum, coalitions, malformations of foot and digits, including apodia, polydactyly, syndactyly and supernumerary digits. Various skeletal dysplasias, involving foot have been described. To mention few, are sclerosing dysplasias, and other miscellaneous dysplasias like, cleidocranial, chondrodysplasia punctata and osteogenesis imperfecta. Syndromes associated with feet abnormalities have a formidable list, but few having importance from the students point of view, e.g. Apert’s, Fanconi, Turner’s, Marfan’s and others are dealt with. Multitude of enzymatic defects like Mucopolysaccharidosis, Mucolipidosis, Wilson’s disease, Oxalosis, and Phenylketonuria also affect feet. Chromosomal disorders like Down’s syndrome, Trisomy 13–15, etc. though rare, are included. Some miscellaneous disorders like neurofibromatosis, Myositis ossificans progressiva and Spinal deformities are described.
