Abstract

Corneal scars of practically any etiology can be addressed using the Excimer Laser PRK in a refractive mode towards unaided emmetropia. Corneoplastique allows one to prepare any cornea for laser vision surgery and to repair any cornea from laser vision surgery. Corneal scars in particular can be easily salvaged unless they are full thickness into the cornea, which will require Penetrating keratoplasty. Even then one can come back with excimer PRK for dealing successfully with the postoperative astigmatism. For scars which are anterior, one needs to determine depth. Supra-Bowman scars can be peeled off under the excimer laser and PRK continued to full refractive correction. Surgical technique described anesthesia and surgical steps.
