Acquired retinal macroaneurysm (ARM) is characterized by spindle-shaped dilations of posterior pole retinal arterioles. It is diagnosed mainly during the 6th and 7th decades of life and is associated with vascular disorders like hypertension and arteriosclerosis. Optic neuritis can be treated with a combination of corticosteroids and antibiotics while untreated chorioretinitis can result in partial or total loss of vision in the affected eye. Investigations done in posterior segment diseases include fundus fluorescein angiography, fundus photography and optical coherence tomography. Pediatric trauma is managed by reporting mechanism of injury, exact time and place of injury, visual status before the trauma, etc. Photodynamic therapy can be indicated as monotherapy in conditions like CNV secondary to inflammatory chorioretinal diseases, choroidal hemangioma, idiopathic CNV, etc. Management of intraocular foreign bodies and many others are important.
