Abstract

Corneal transplantation surgery is performed for a variety of reasons, the major being to achieve an improvement in vision. Corneal transplantation is not performed just because a corneal problem exists. The transplanting surgeon must reasonably expect significant eventual improvement of the patient\'s condition as a result of the surgical procedure. Improvement of two or more lines in Snellen\'s visual acuity chart is taken as a significant improvement in vision after corneal grafting surgery.
