Ankylosis of the T.M.J. is a devastating deformity, which predominantly afflicts children, subsequent to trauma or infection. This lesion affects both function and esthetics. The patient will not be able to open the mouth. And due to asymmetrical growth of the jaw, deformity of the face occurs as well.
