Abstract

Some lung nodules may cavitate so that on a radiograph the center is black and periphery is white. When they contain fluid, an air fluid level is seen in erect film. Thick irregular walls of the cavity might suggest it to be a malignant lesion. High quality chest x-ray and CT scan images are shown depicting the cavitary lesions in lungs and discussed.
