In this chapter of CT contrast media the basic principles and applications of CT contrast are discussed. The classifications of iodinated contrast media such as diatrizoate, metrizoate, iopamidol, ioxaglate and iotrolan have been discussed. High osmolar contrast media versus Low osmolar contrast media have been discussed. The adverse reactions to contrast media with principles of management have been discussed.
