Abstract

As nursing is skill oriented profession, this chapter highlights exclusively the teaching methods used in clinical setting. Philosophy and outcomes of clinical teaching explain the three domains such as knowledge, attitude and skills. Various clinical teaching models elaborate their advantages as well. The skills which every faculty member should inculcate during clinical teaching are narrated and it extends with the purposes too. A lengthy description on preparation for clinical instruction helps the teachers to equip themselves. The methods of clinical teaching that is included in this chapter are case method, nursing care study, process recording, bedside clinic, individual and group conference, nursing care conferences, teaching rounds, nursing rounds and patient care assignment.
