by Ajay Kr Bhootra

The field of optical retail industry is unique where there is a need of specific skills which are not usually taught in any general stream of education. It needs the knowledge about some basic principles of physics, optics as well as the understanding of product knowledge which are very technical and requires in depth knowledge about its application to deal with. The optical dispensing is an art which can be learned by practice. However, the biggest irony is that there is no organized book or publication available specifically for people who work in optical retails or related trade and industry. With this backdrop in mind, the text of this title was developed in a very simple and easy to understand language so that a person who intends to excel in this may learn without the help of any mentor. The target readers of the book is the employees of the optical retail industry, eye wear industry and eye hospitals as well as the students of the optometry. Each chapter has been selected with an emphasis on the practical aspect to create a foundation for the next. The entire text is related to the bare minimum training that an individual needs to work in the optical industry.
