Abstract

Usually a frown incision is given at 12\'O clock with a length equal to size of IOL optic (6–6.5 mm) to minimize astigmatic shift. The length of the tunnel in 3.75–4 mm is scleral type and 1.75 mm in clear corneal with a roof thickness of about 300 microns. A keratome is then introduced in the tunnel at the intended point of entry, the tip is dipped posteriorly and advanced slowly until the tip just appears inside the chamber and then again turned horizontal to complete entry. Though the wound is self sealing, sometimes a single suture may be required to prevent post operative leak.
