To reduce post operative astigmatism, incision can be modified in various ways, e.g. Site, size, shape and axis in SICS. Temporal incision has many advantages as compared to superior incision. Temporal incision produces WTR astigmatism. It offers better wound strength and lesser distortion of corneal curvature. It preserves a functioning filtering bleb. It can be comfortably employed in deep seated eyes and coloboma of iris. It induces less central endothelial cell loss. It requires few modifications in the surgical steps but has many advantages.
