Abstract

Neuro-ophthalmic mobility disorders of the eyes are common, seen in all ages from intrauterine life (congenital) to very old age. They can be unilateral or bilateral. Both can be due to central or peripheral lesions. The bilateral palsies are generally due to peripheral lesions except some supranuclear lesions or nuclear third nerve palsy. The unilateral lesions are more likely to be associated with other cranial nerve lesions either in cavernous sinus or in the orbit. Single nerve palsies without tract lesions are due to lesion in interpeduncular space or cerebellopontine angle.
