Abstract

Pain in the cranium is generally referred to as headache. It is one of the commonest symptoms that puts a person off from usual work all over the world. Headache is met within all ages in both sexes from newborn to very old. Nonverbal children do not complain of headache but their behavior and physical findings may point towards its presence. Persistent or repeated headache in children should not be disposed as trivial. Headache can be the sole complaint of the patient or may be associated with other symptoms like fever, pain in neck, vomiting and neurological deficiency. It can be localized in a particular part of the cranium, i.e. frontal, temporal, occipital, periocular or may be generalized. Tenderness associated with headache is caused mostly due to trauma, temporal arteritis and neuritis.
