The book “Essentials of Pediatric Cardiology” mainly focuses on non-cardiologists by providing fundamental and practical information for the management of children with cardiac problems. Pediatric cardiology is well recognized as a distinct super specialty. It is written in a comprehensive manner by avoiding excessive theoretical details and surgical techniques found in superspecialty textbooks. This book contains thirteen different chapters. It starts with explaining congestive cardiac failure, hypertension in children, arrhythmias, pacemakers in children and cardiac imaging. General aspects and specific lesions of congenital heart disease are clearly explained in this book. Different diagnostic approaches to congenital heart disease are also covered. Apart from these, other topics (like) arrhythmias, congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease, rheumatic fever, myocardial diseases, cardiac imaging and perinatal cardiology are some of the chapters in the book that have been dealt with in a simplified manner and recent advances concerning the topics have also been incorporated to make the reading comprehensive.
