Abstract

Point Mutations can be acceptable (Hb Bristol), partially acceptable (HbS) or unacceptable (HbM). Mutagenicity of a compound can be detected by the Ame’s test. Cell cycles have 5 phases: G0, M, G1, S and G2. Caspases are ‘cysteinyl aspartate specific protease’. Ten caspases have been identified and participate in an activation cascade to bring out the effect. Operon is a unit of gene expression. It includes structural genes, control elements, regulator/inhibitor gene, promoter and operator areas, e.g. Lac operon.
