This book “Textbook of high risk pregnancy” provides immense knowledge on the basic aspects, diagnosis, treatment, and other protocols in managing the patients associated with high-risk in pregnancy. It also illustrates the principle of application and thinking correlation, which is the tool with which obstetricians approach clinical problems. This book is divided into twenty four chapters. The first chapter describes about the anemia in pregnancy, while the second chapter discusses about megaloblastic anemia. Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy may cause maternal and fetal morbidity and remain as a foremost source of maternal mortality. Its incidence, diagnosis, management and treatment are well explained. The subsequent chapters described are diabetes in pregnancy, thyroid disorders, hepatitis in pregnancy, renal disease in pregnancy, antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, epilepsy in pregnancy and malaria in pregnancy. The next few chapters give detailed information on preterm labor, placenta previa, abruptio placentae, RH-alloimmunization in pregnancy, cervical incompetence, postdatism, multifetal gestation, contracted pelvis and cephalopelvic disproportion. Recurrent pregnancy loss is the occurrence of three or more clinically recognized pregnancy loss before 20 weeks of pregnancy. The last chapter provides information on non-stress test.
