An Atlas Illustrating HIV in Dermatology

by Bela J Shah

This book presents the clinical spectrum of HIV/AIDS to provide support to the postgraduate students, general practitioners and young dermatologists to nurture as well as develop a good clinical judgment. According to the 2011-2012 estimate, India has 2 to 3 million people living with HIV/AIDS. India’s national epidemic is made up of a number of local epidemics. It is very important to understand the examination of the largest organ of the body, i.e. skin in relation to HIV. The HIV epidemic is mature enough now. The primary and secondary mucocutaneous manifestations seen in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) provide an opportunity not only to identify the HIV, for the very first time, but also to classify them as per WHO staging and even institute ART. The varied collection of colored clinical photographs creates a perfect image and understanding of the disease.
