The book titled “A Practical Approach to Anesthesia for Emergency surgery” has explored the various aspects of rational approach to anesthesia especially for emergency surgery. It acts as practical guide, which not only includes anesthesia for trauma, but also for almost all of the surgical emergencies that an anesthetist might encounter. Wealth of emergency clinical cases and presentation of facts by organ system and body region are explained in a comprehensive and organized way. Constituents of this book have been branched into nine sections and each section accord with distinct emergencies. The first section comprises of general principles for emergency anesthesia and followed by cardiovascular emergency procedure, general surgery, obstetric emergencies, neonatal and pediatric emergencies, ENT and ophthalmic emergencies, neurosurgical emergencies, trauma and miscellaneous in the rest of the respective sections. This book is an endeavor to compile the scattered data and to reasonably blend current technologies with clinical expertise so that probable approaches can be conducted to anesthesia to attain potential results in respect to cost effectiveness and risk minimization.
