Abstract

Benign lesions of vulva may be asymptomatic or warrant clinical evaluation and management. After highlighting the physiology of vulva, benign disorder of vulva are classified in chapter. Etiopathogenesis, diagnostic approach and management option of all benign condition of vulva are described in the chapter like vulvar varicosity, hematoma, hemangiomas, infection, infestation and vulva manifestation of systemic diseases. Vulvar non neoplastic epithelial disorders like lichen sclerosis, squamous cell, hyperplasia, lichen planus are important group of benign vulvar disorder which require confirmation of diagnosis by biopsy, and follow up to rule out malignancy. Cystic and solid tumor of vulva may need surgical intervention. Diagnostic and management approach of Vulvodynia (vulvar pain syndrome) is summarized in the chapter.
