Abstract

Benign adnexal mass are one of common gynecological finding on clinical examination and investigation. Functional ovarian cyst can be caused by follicular, corpus luteal cyst, and require observation. Endometrioma, polycystic ovaries, luteoma, hyperthecosis are other causes of ovarian cyst beside ovarian neoplasm. There can be various types of benign epithelial, sex cord and germ cell tumor, in which risk of malignancy must be excluded by ultrasound, color Doppler, tumor marker, CT, MRI and even laparoscopy. Details of clinical diagnosis, imaging modalities, differential diagnosis, and management option with different surgical approaches have been taken up in chapter with illustration and photographs.
