Abstract

Viral hepatitis is most common cause of jaundice in pregnancy in tropical countries. Pathology of different types of viral hepatitis (A-G), their diagnostic features, prevention, prophylaxis and management are covered systematically in the chapter. ICP presents as pruritus with elevated levels of bile acids and can affect fetus adversely. Acute fatty liver of pregnancy is rare but life threatening complication. Acute abdominal pain in pregnancy requires methodical approach. Each topic is well discussed in the chapter with clear guidelines on general and specific management.
