Neck forms an integral part of the region, so its anatomy and its contents are important. A systemic examination of the neck is essential to examine the various levels of lymph nodes. To make this point, a study of the transverse section of the neck is included in the chapter. Various masses, cysts of the neck along with specified infection are shown. A patient with tubercular lymphadenitis is well documented. Metastatic lymph node needs to be investigated for its primary location. Various incisions for block dissection of the neck are shown. Pathology of the parotid and submandibular salivary gland is well shown. Calculi of the submandibular salivary gland is documented along with its surgical excision. Thyroid swelling is well covered. A case of carotid body tumor is also illustrated.
