The book entitled “Kadasne’s Textbook of Embryology” emphasizes on embryology. It is written in a comprehensive and a simple manner to make the subject of embryology clearly understandable and interesting. Study of embryology should be combined with subject of anatomy. The book is divided into forty-four chapters. It explains ABC of genetics in an easy to understand way. It discusses chromosomes and cell division, development of the tissues of the body, structure of sperm, ovulation, ovarian cycle, menstrual cycle, fertilization and the placenta. This book is mainly on foundation of embryology and anatomy which the clinical sciences have progressed to the stage of organ transplant. Development of teeth, tongue, thyroid gland, parathyroids, face, palate, respiratory system, diaphragm, lymphatic system and vagina are explained along with suitable images. It also explains stages in embryology, role of ultrasound in pregnancy, twining, formation of limbs, pineal gland, adrenal gland, hypophysis cerebri, nervous system, cerebellum, urogenital system, cardiovascular system, alimentary system, body cavities and prenatal diagnosis of birth defects are discussed in detailed.
