Abstract

Tuberculosis is the leading communicable disease of India, and continues to be major health problem. It mainly affects lungs. It also can affect intestine, meanings, bone and joints, lumph glands, uterus, skin and other tissues of the body known as extra pulmonary. Tuberculosis is worldwide public health problem despite causative organism discovered more than 100 years ago and highly effective drugs and vaccines are available making tuberculosis a preventable and curable disease. Over the last 10 years 20 million clients have been placed on effective treatment globally. But the diseases still kills 4.400 people everyday over 6 lakhs Indians are unaware that they suffer from tuberculosis. India and china account for an estimated 28% of all undetected new cases. Tuberculosis is one of the oldest diseases known to man. Danger signals undo tiredness and fatigue, progressive weight loss, chronic cough, spitting up blood occasionally, chest pain, night sweats, an afternoon fever, or loss of appetite. Medical control and prevention of fetal disease is very important. TB is number one killer diseases. No single country in the world has succeeded in reaching the point of control. Tuberculosis is a chronic and stigmatizing disease. The poor are unable to buy drugs, which sometimes sleep without food, and fall victims such patients need urgent attention to free them from this clutches of infectious diseases. Tuberculosis remains a major and increasing problem in the villages. Tuberculosis is still among the top 10 killer diseases of India. Their lack of proper information about the disease, the nature of treatment and the negative effect of interrupted treatment make the implantation of this programme very difficult. It is a challenge.
