Textbook for Health Workers & ANM (2 Volumes)

by I Clement

This book provides a detailed description of basic promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services given by a nurse directly to the community. ANMs work according to the revised Indian nursing council curriculum. The purpose of this revised curriculum is to prepare candidates with high school certificate as health worker (female) and health worker (male) under multipurpose health worker scheme in order to render primary health care in the community. A skilled health professional present at every birth is helpful in achieving reduction of maternal and infant mortality as per the National population policy, 2000. The book highlights that skilled health care professionals such as doctors or nurses who have midwifery skills, can recognize medical complications and either treat them or refer women to health centers or hospitals immediately, if more skilled care is needed.
