Abstract

The MRI of forearm has been discussed with meticulously labeled images in coronal, sagittal and axial sections. The general features and of muscle groups of the forearm, ligaments, arteries, veins, nerves are highlighted and depicted on the MR images. The anterior compartment muscles whose main action is flexion at the wrist joint take their origin from medial epicondyle. The posterior compartment muscles whose main action is extension at wrist joint take their origin from the lateral epicondyle. The arteries, veins and nerves which travel in these compartments are shown better on MR imaging due to unparalleled soft tissue resolution.
