The First edition of “Intrauterine Insemination” serves as a comprehensive guide to gynaecologists. Throughout the book there is an emphasis on the core advances in insemination techniques. The book is divided into 15 chapters. Chapter 1 in this book is presented with an introduction to IUI. Chapter 2 is on indications, patient selection and work-up before IUI. Further sections reflect on the Semen analysis, Setting up of an IUI laboratory, ovulation induction, monitoring in intrauterine insemination, semen preparation etc. Apart from these, IUI techniques and complications involved in IUI are explained here. This book is also presented with many of the chapters which explain step by-step approach in dealing with infertile patients requiring IUI treatment. Role of Doppler and luteal phase support in the success of IUI were explained in a detailed manner. This book also highlights the determinants of success and optimizing success of IUI. Assessments of infertility treatment were emphasized in an appropriate manner. Indications for donor insemination and donor work up are clearly described. One Section deals with Legal aspects and ICMR guidelines for artificial insemination. Methods of sperm cryopreservation, their indications and principle were clearly depicted.
