The Book “Cardiology: an Illustrated Textbook (2 Volumes)” is divided into 15 sections and emphasizes on the substantial progress that has been occurred in the understanding of coronary circulation, the molecular mechanisms of myocyte function and in the assessment ofregional and global ventricular functions in physiologic and pathologic conditions. The advantages, disadvantages andclinical pharmacologyin the management of various cardiovascular disorders of diuretic therapy, vasodilators, neurohormone modulators, positive inotropic agents, antilipid, antithrombotic and antiplatelet agents havebeen discussed. Molecular imaging and three-dimensional echocardiography; intravascular ultrasound imaging; advances in the nuclear, cardiovascular computerized tomographic and magneticresonance imaging along with their diagnostic techniques and applications in the practice of cardiology have been extensively discussed.The role of rest and stress, electrocardiography and echocardiography has beenaccentuated. The new therapeutic modalities for the management of chronic coronary artery diseases have been discoveredand devoted to discuss.The diagnosis and management of valvular heart disease and heart failure are discussed in detail as well as chemotherapy andradiation-induced cardiovascular disorders. The progress in vascular biology, genetics and pharmacogenomics, and cardiologyhas has also been considerable. In recent years, awareness of the cost of health care, errors in the practice of cardiology and genderand geographic differences in the incidence, diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disorders has risen. This textbook addresses these important and controversial topics. Modified guidelines for the management of angina, arrhythmias, heart failure, valvular heart diseases and perioperative cardiac evaluations were also mentioned in the book.
