The book provides in depth knowledge of clinical examination of all the organ systems. It guides the students at every level and even the practicing general physicians to effectively diagnose the diseases and disorders. The book is presented in seventeen chapters and each organ system is designated in these chapters. Each chapter is emphasized with functional anatomy, history taking (symptomatology), relevant general physical assessment, physical examination of the particular system and related investigations. Chapter one deals with the methodology of history taking and general physical examination in general. Chapter two explains in detail about nutrition with an outline of the general nutrition assessment. Chapter three to seven thoroughly covers the examination of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system, digestive system (abdomen), urinary system and nervous system respectively. Chapter eight describes psychiatry, accentuated with the mental status examination. Chapter nine handles with hematology. The clinical examinations of the musculoskeletal system, breast and skin are well illustrated from chapter ten to twelve respectively. Chapter thirteen deals with the examination and investigations of a comatose patient. The clinical methods in geriatric medicine and pediatric medicine are profoundly covered in chapter fourteen and fifteen. The relevance and use of medical records are well discussed in the concluding chapter.
