The book “Handbook of Joint Disorders Arthroscopy and Pathology” discusses pathology of various diseases of synovium and their relevant arthroscopic findings. It aids as a practical guide to interpretation of synovial diseases based on integrated assessment of arthroscopic findings, microscopic details and special techniques. This book comprises of nine chapters and it starts with an introduction to arthroscopy and synovial biopsy followed by normal synovium, synovial fluid, infective arthritis, crystal-induced synovitis is discussed. In addition the book also highlights synovium—tumors and tumor-like lesions, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and certain miscellaneous topics like amyloid arthropathy, detritic synovitis, foreign body synovitis etc. Each chapter is integrated with high quality arthroscopic, microscopic and gross photographs. The arthroscope facilitates the direct visualization of synovium, thereby allowing sampling of both synovium and synovial fluid. The synovial fluid examination is dealt in detail.
