This is the 1st edition of the book Essentials of First Aid for Nursing. The text is comprehensive, updated as per the present day requirements in the subject of accidents and emergencies. This book provides basic knowledge and skill to prepare an individual to provide first aid in emergencies. The book has 21 chapters. The first and second chapters deal with introduction to first aid and unconventional threats. Subsequent chapter is on fire safety and evacuation. Chapter 4 to 6 deal with heart attack, angina pectoris and fainting. Burns, poisoning, bleeding, bites and stings, accidents, drowning, suffocation, asphyxia and foreign body are described in subsequent chapters. Last chapter deals with different type of bandages and their application. A comprehensive index is given at last.
