This chapter focuses on nonmalignant CPP in women, and their management from the pain clinic perspective. Definitions of the pelvic pain management are explained in this chapter. Etiology and pathophysiology are unclear. History and examinations (detailed pelvic examination and external abdominal examination) are further important to know more on the disease. Investigations are done in a proper manner by examining the full blood count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reactive protein, urea and electrolytes, urine for microscopy and culture, cervical smear for culture and cytology, plain abdominal film and abdominal ultrasound. Number of randomized controlled trials is available for managing CPP in women. A multidisciplinary team approach and specific treatment (pharmacotherapy, stimulation/modulation and interventional procedures) are used in the treatment or management of the nonmalignant pelvic pain.
