This chapter describes easy-to-perform but common and useful procedures, like skin biopsy, cauterization and curettage in day-to-day dermatosurgery practice. There is stepwise description of different biopsy techniques, the various chemical cauterizing agents used along with their recommended concentrations and techniques of curettage with their indications. The correct and scientific methods for practicing these effective, but comparatively simple and inexpensive procedures are explained with appropriate diagrams and photographs. Thus, this simple and inexpensive technique can be immensely useful if proper precautions are taken. We can achieve excellent results for most of the commonly seen dermatological problems in day-to-day OPD practice by chemocautery.
