Abstract

Aseptic technique is an infection prevention method used in all healthcare practice settings to prevent contamination with microorganisms. This technique can be used in all clinical settings. Situations in which aseptic techniques are described here include surgery, placement of intravenous lines, urinary catheters and any indwelling drains or devices. These techniques help to prevent the risk of transmission of organism from one person to another or from one place to another.
