The treatment of mandibular fracture in adult describes advantages of each method, indications and contraindications of open reduction. Various intra-oral and extra-oral approaches to mandible have been described. Bone plating in the treatment of mandibular fractures is adequately dealt with. Various bone plating systems such as non-compression and compression plates, are described.
