The salient features of this chapter are anatomy and physiology of salivary glands, classifications of salivary glands, tumors of salivary glands, diagnostic imaging of salivary glands, salivary analysis, clinical features of various tumors of salivary glands, differential diagnosis and surgical management of salivary gland diseases; with a note on complications associated with salivary gland surgery. The general and etiological classifications of salivary gland disorders are mentioned in tabulated form with diagram. The diagnostic imaging procedures for conventional radiography, sialography, computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and radionuclide imaging of salivary gland disorders are described.
