Abstract

INTRACOR is a technique that uses the femtosecond laser to treat presbyopia, was first used in Colombia in 2007. The technique is done using a instrument called as VICTUS Femtosecond Laser Platform, shown in a picture. The duration of procedure is around 20 seconds and it includes the formation of five concentric rings within the stroma. The ring formation is shown with a representative picture. Principle involved and the various steps for performing the INTRACOR procedure are discussed in detail. Several pre operative measures to be taken care of, entire INTRACORE procedure and the results obtained are explained. Important considerations while selecting a patient and also in the management of patients are discussed.
