The book discusses about the history of bronchoscopy, various aspects of fiberoptic bronchoscopy, its related techniques, prerequisites for performing bronchoscopy and procedures. Each chapter is dealt with the nomenclatures, bronchial anatomy, abnormal patterns of bronchial anatomy, different bronchoscope instruments and the procedures to handle these instruments. It also explains about the various responsibilities and awareness of bronchoscopists required to handle the instruments. They also explain about the diagnostic indications, contraindications and therapeutics for fiberoptic bronchoscopy. The different advances of fiberoptic bronchoscopy and its uses are also discussed in this book. The book also deals with the use of topical anesthesia and the risk factors involved with high and low doses. It also discusses about the different instruments and procedures used in children with many case studies related to benign pulmonary diseases and malignant pulmonary diseases. Images obtained by using X-ray and CT scan are used for the diagnosis and help in proper visualization of various bronchial related disorders.
