Abstract

Liposuction has been considered to be a safe procedure. However, complications and deaths are occurring that are unnecessary and giving liposuction a poor reputation. Anesthesia, liposuction limits, megaliposuction and medications are discussed. The legal aspects of medical malpractice are described including medical negligence, standard of care, informed consent, patient rapport, handling complications and the angry patient. Legal cases are presented with comments on what happened and why.
