The book Bhutani’s Color Atlas of SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS highlights the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are defined as a group of infectious diseases in which sexual transmission is epidemiologically important. The book has discussed some conventional venereal diseases (VD) like syphilis, gonorrhea, chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum, donovanosis, gonorrhoea and granuloma inguinale. Several additional diseases like non-gonococcal urethritis and nonspecific genital infections, genital herpes, venereal warts, pediculosis pubis, scabies and the most dreaded disease, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) are discussed. The pictures for sexually transmitted diseases look bright. The book also has touched other topics such as balanitis and balanoposthitis, vaginal discharge, Sexually Transmitted Infestations, non-venereal genital conditions, lesions of genitals, STIs in pregnancy and STIs in adolescents.
