This chapter aims to give a quick overview of the physical principles of 2D ultrasound, image generation, image optimization, common imaging artifacts, Doppler ultrasound and general physics. This chapter explains in brief the Doppler effect and the mechanisms of Doppler ultrasound. 18 self-explanatory and comprehensive images are included in this chapter.
