The book, “Diagnostic Procedures in OPHTHALMOLOGY”, discusses about the advanced diagnostic investigations and procedures, which are useful to obtain accurate and speedy diagnosis of eye diseases. The routine tests required for examination of the ophthalmic patients include recording of visual acuity, color vision and color defects, slit-lamp examination, tonometry, gonioscopy, optic disc assessment, ophthalmoscopy, and perimetry are all explained in the book. It also discusses about tools like fundus fluorescence angiography, indocyanine green angiography A-scan and B-scan ultrasonography, their role in the diagnosis, documentation and treatment in various disorders. Some imaging techniques like ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM), confocal microscopy, and corneal topography are also discussed. Some chapters emphasize on the diagnostic procedures in infectious keratitis, uveitis, retinopathy of prematurity, concomitant strabismus, localization of intraocular foreign body, incomitant strabismus, dry eye disease, proptosis, genetically transmitted eye diseases, and intraocular malignancies.
