The book ‘Clinical Protocols in Pediatrics’ elucidates about various management techniques which should be taken care during emergency situations. It is an approach-based book mainly written for emergency physicians, emergency fellows and practicing pediatricians. Emergency managements in neonatal, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, otolaryngological, dermatological, neurological and endocrinal situations are explained briefly in this book. It also deals with environmental problems such as animal bites, snake bite, near drowning and burn. The chapter on poisoning explains about general management principles and approach for known and unknown poisoning. Other than this, this book covers the topics on psychiatric behavioral and social issues, trauma and orthopedics, infections, toxic shock syndrome and medicolegal Issues. Symptoms and signs for both medical and psychiatric conditions are dealt under the chapter of psychiatric behavioral and social issues. The management for different types of trauma and orthopedics are clearly described in the flowchart manner. In medicolegal issues, responsibility of the duty doctor and proper maintenance of documents are discussed in detail.
