Otolaryngology is the study of ear, nose and throat conditions. The book deals with the advances in the surgical procedures associated with ear, nose and throat. With the advancement of technology there is excessive use of robots and robotics in carrying out surgeries which involve high risk. Computer-assisted surgery allows a more precise location of the surgical instrument in the surrounding structures through its three-dimensional (3D) radiologic orientation. The study deals with different conditions like obstructive sleep apnea, airway obstruction and the surgical procedures like transoral robotic surgery, tracheoplasty respectively used for their treatment. Imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) aid in sensitive and accurate assessment of various conditions of otolaryngology which is required in the selection of appropriate surgical treatment method. The book also deals with personalized therapy for the treatment of head and neck cancer.
