Endoscopic Endonasal Surgery: Sinuses & Beyond

by Milind V Kirtane

The book ENDOSCOPIC ENDONASAL SURGERY SINUSES AND BEYOND addresses various aspects of endocopic endonasal surgery. Basic endoscopic techniques for the management of sinonasal diseases as well as chapters on imaging techniques are illustrated. Chapters deal with extended indications such as lesions of the pituitary, skull base tumors, orbital lesions, traumatic optic neuropathy, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), rhinorrhea, etc. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) was introduced as a treatment for intractable chronic sinusitis, which failed to respond to medical management. The surgery started operating on different conditions, including tumors within the nose and paranasal sinuses as well as of surrounding areas such as the orbit and the skull base. The book also highlights the need for the endoscopist to have a comprehensive understanding of the same. In addition, pre- and postoperative care, diagnosis and management also been addressed.
